Ahead of the first ever MSP Show Netherlands, we caught up with Tycho Loke, founder of Above the Stack and a recognized expert in Microsoft, cybersecurity, and modern workplace strategy.
He helps MSPs simplify, grow, and innovate by turning complex tech into clear go-to-market strategies. Through keynotes, playbooks, and advisory, he drives impact beyond the tools, focusing on mindset, business value, and future-ready IT.
Learn more about Tycho ahead of his seminar sessions at the MSP Show Netherlands.
1. What’s your biggest career highlight?
Becoming a recognized voice in the MSP and cybersecurity ecosystem before the age of 26. I’ve had the privilege to speak across global stages—from MSP Global to GTIA ChannelCon—and help transform MSPs into modern Managed Intelligence Providers.
But the highlight isn’t a title or event. It’s seeing MSPs shift their mindset: from reactive IT support to proactive data guardianship. Helping them realize that performance isn’t just about uptime, but about clarity, culture, and control.
2. How did you get into the world of AI?
About four years ago, I started exploring what AI could do—just casually, out of curiosity. I stumbled upon some early tools and became one of the early adopters of OpenAI, and quickly realized the potential.
Before long, I was building my own models and integrating AI into everything I do.
Today, I use AI daily—honestly, even hourly. I’ve fully replaced Google Search with AI. But more importantly, I’ve learned that AI isn’t just about getting faster answers—it’s about making better decisions, scaling insight, and rethinking how we interact with information. Now, I focus on helping others unlock that same potential—but safely, with governance in mind.
3. What advice would you give someone starting out their career?
Don’t wait for permission. If you’re curious, ask the question. If you see a gap, fill it. And most importantly—learn to speak both languages: business and technology.
The most valuable people in this industry are not just experts in tech, but translators of impact.
Also: the tools change, but mindset is forever. Stay adaptable, stay clear, and stay human.
4. What are the key points you’ll be covering in your seminar session?
-
How AI leverages poorly classified data and weak access controls to escalate cyber risk.
-
Real-world consequences of letting AI “see” too much—without knowing what it’s looking at.
-
The triad of Data Classification, Access Control, and AI: why they must evolve together.
-
Practical steps MSPs can take to regain control over data flows, stop shadow access, and prepare for Copilot-like AI safely.
-
Frameworks and examples to help MSPs build client trust through modern governance—not just tools.
5. What are you looking forward to most at the MSP Show NL?
The conversations between the sessions. The Dutch MSP market is evolving rapidly, and events like this are where shared stories become shared strategies. I’m looking forward to challenging assumptions, meeting the next generation of channel leaders, and having real conversations about what’s next—beyond tools, beyond hype, toward sustainable, secure growth.
